Habiba Tawfiq is a dedicated and versatile engineering student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Honors Mechanical Engineering and Design at Northeastern University. With a strong foundation in key engineering principles such as statics, mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and material science, Habiba is well-equipped to tackle complex technical challenges. Her proficiency in software tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe Indesign, and 3D printing technologies further enhances her capability to bring innovative designs to life.
Habiba's academic journey is marked by several notable projects and achievements. During her "Cornerstone of Engineering" course, she collaborated with a team to design and construct a pinball machine, which earned top honors at the year-end project fair. Additionally, her participation in the Stanford Summer Institute allowed her to develop the "Scratch Patch," a product designed to remove scratches from stainless steel refrigerators. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone through her involvement with ESchool4Girls at NYU, where she co-founded Barter, a platform for young adults to trade and sell products and services, winning first place for their innovative business model.
In her professional experience, Habiba has excelled as a Product Design Engineer during her co-op at Shark Ninja. Here, she utilized SolidWorks for CAD modeling, analyzed data using Microsoft Excel, and communicated design improvements through effective PowerPoint presentations. Her hands-on experience in the model shop and with 3D printing further honed her practical engineering skills.
